Motorists can use one of these different methods to pay for public parking throughout the emirate

The Roads and Transport Authority has eased the ways motorists can pay for parking in nine different ways.

Authorities have been expanding the range of paid parking spaces over the years, making them increasingly accessible.

Here are six different ways motorists can pay for parking:

Machines are installed around public parking lots. Motorists can insert coins of the correct value (one-dirham and half-dirham coins are accepted) within the desired time frame and place the received ticket in a prominent place on the dashboard.

2. Seasonal Parking Cards

Seasonal cards allow motorists to use paid parking spots without having to pay for each spot. Cardholders should place their cards prominently on the dashboard.

Motorists can download the RTA app and pay for parking conveniently. In addition to this, the app also provides other services, including providing public transportation information.

Nol card holders can use it to pay for parking at the machines in the car park. The machine will deduct the parking fee from the card balance.

Apple users can use built-in features to pay for parking in a safe and secure way. Motorists can scan a barcode on the payment machine, which redirects them to the RTA website, enabling them to pay with Apple Pay.

Last but not least, via SMS. Motorists can pay for parking with a simple text message in a specific format. This format can be found at the payment machines installed in the lot.
