A professor at Fordham University was fired for confusing the names of two black students.
According to the “Observer” report, the English professor Christopher Trogan (Christopher Trogan) lost his job due to an e-mail on the matter on September 24.
According to reports, in the email, Trogen apologized for his actions and attributed it to his “chaotic brain” while outlining “everything he did for minorities.”
“The offended student thought my mistake was because I confused that student with another black student,” Trogan said in an email. “I have done my best to confirm and reassure the offended student that I made a simple, human error. It has nothing to do with race.”
One of the students said that Trogan often uses the wrong name Class four. The student said: “I really feel disrespected.” “I don’t feel like I’ve been heard, because every time he (giving me the wrong name) I tell him, and he seems to ignore it, or he doesn’t care.
The Observer also reported that Trogen stated in an e-mail that his English class “revolved specifically and clearly around issues of justice, equality, and tolerance.”
Trogen was informed that he was suspended with pay and the incident is under investigation. But the term appeared only a few days after the incident.
In another email, Trogan stated that he did not know that he was under investigation. Trogen wrote on October 29: “I have never been informed of the allegations against me, nor have I been informed of the nature of my investigation as a subject of investigation. I am completely kept in the dark.”
Trogen said that this email was the basis for his dismissal.
Chantel Sims, one of the students involved in the incident, said that Trogan appeared to be a white savior. A simple apology is enough.
“It seems a bit too much, like all you need to do is say sorry and everything will be fine,” Sims said. “We are not actually upset because he confused our names. More importantly, he will add some random things to the response.”
