Winners of 2021 World Chambers Competition announced, Dubai 12WCC closed – Dubai Blog

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and its World Chamber of Commerceday Dubai World Chamber of Commerce General Assembly.

Lima Chamber of Commerce won the Best Digital Project Award. This category aims to recognize chambers of commerce that create innovative technological solutions for membership services. Lima Chamber demonstrated how they successfully transferred all face-to-face services online to create a fully digital solution to reduce costs and increase efficiency for all members and customers.

The Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg won the Best Resilience Project Award. This category recognizes chambers of commerce that have developed innovative resilience measures in response to the economic and health consequences associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. The Chamber of Commerce has developed the Home of Entrepreneurship to support entrepreneurs in their entire business journey.

The winner of the best climate action project award is the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce in England. This category recognizes chambers of commerce that have developed projects that support bold actions against climate change. The Chamber of Commerce proposed the Chamber of Commerce Low-Carbon Project, which aims to help companies develop, review and implement their low-carbon plans through unlimited support to transform the Lancashire region of the United Kingdom into a profitable low-carbon economy.

The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Germany) won the Best Unconventional Project Award, which recognizes chambers of commerce that develop unique and pioneering projects in activities that are usually not related to their daily mission and goals, while increasing employment opportunities to boost the local economy. The Chamber of Commerce launched the Shufi-Youth Entrepreneur App to teach students the key elements of successful entrepreneurship and guidance on setting up a company.

In addition, special awards were awarded to TOBB, the Turkish Chamber of Commerce and the Union of Commodity Exchanges, and other institutions in the ICC network, because we were able to organize the first safe passage from Kabul to Istanbul. ICC launched the “I Care for Colleagues” solidarity campaign in September to provide financial support where it is urgently needed, and we will continue this work today to help staff and colleagues in Afghanistan.

The award was awarded by HE Hamad Buamim, President and CEO of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce World Chamber of Commerce (HE Hamad Buamim) and Maria Fernanda Garza Melo, First Vice President of the Mexican Chamber of International Commerce Dior (Maria Fernanda Garza Merodio) was presented to the laureate under the witness of John Denton, Secretary-General of the International Criminal Court.

His Excellency Hamad Buamim congratulated the winners for their achievements and praised all the finalists for taking the lead in innovative projects that create value for the company. He revealed that the 2021 competition received 78 initiatives from 33 countries/regions, and added that he was encouraged and impressed by the high level of quality and creativity demonstrated by the finalists and winners this time.

HE Buamim added that the latest competitions and awards have consolidated Dubai’s position as a global innovation center and a testbed for cutting-edge solutions, and added that 12WCC is an eye-opening experience for delegates and let them know about Chambers 4.0 And Chamber of Commerce-leading innovation.

“Our goal is to provide a global platform to showcase the ability of chambers of commerce to promote economic and social progress through innovative, locally tailored solutions to challenges and disruptions. The competition highlights the impact these chambers of commerce are having in order to inspire further action. Cooperation opens doors and initiates new dialogues,” said John WH Denton AO, Secretary-General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

Since its inception in 2003, the competition has helped generate extensive case studies that showcase the entrepreneurial spirit of participating in the chamber of commerce and inspire others, with submitted projects ranging from networking and diversity initiatives to employment and membership-driven.

The World Chamber of Commerce Competition is the only global awards program that aims to identify and reward the most innovative entrepreneurial solutions proposed by the Global Chamber of Commerce to meet today’s most pressing global challenges. The international jury is composed of the leadership of the International Chamber of Commerce and the World Chamber of Commerce and representatives from multinational, national and local chambers of commerce, responsible for entering the category finals.
