Jonathan Rockefeller created the show based on AA Milne’s bedtime stories and subsequent books, shows and films, narrated using life-size character puppets and an original score by Nate Edmondson , which includes some songs written for Disney Animation featuring the Sherman Brothers.
The center is partnering with Once Upon a Time in Springdale to host a reading event around the performance; new or “gentle use” books for teens ages 8 to 17 will be donated to the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter.
music: mariachi royals
Also at the Walton Arts Center, Ada CuevasKnown as the “Queen of Mariachi” and on her “45th Anniversary/Yo Creo Que Es Tiempo” tour on Thursday at 7pm with the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley band Mariachi Aztlan performed together. Cuevas was the first female singer to win a Grammy in a mariachi band. The performance is part of the center’s 10×10 art series. Tickets are $10.Call (479) 443-5600 or visit waltonartscenter.org.
Movie: art of war
The MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History at 503 East Ninth Street in Little Rock screened the documentary “The Art of War” 6:30 pm today. The film, part of the Museum’s monthly Films at MacArthur series, focuses on eight WWII veterans and artists as they recount their experiences of service and their use of art in journalism, as a tactical tool and to maintain their own reason. Comedian/Actor Katt Williams Brings his “2023 and Me” tour to the Simmons Bank Arena in North Little Rock on February 4th at 8pm.Tickets are $63-254 (plus applicable fees; limit of eight tickets per household), available at the Arena Box Office or through Ticketmaster.com. Williams’ tour in support of his recent Netflix special “Kate Williams: World War 3” brought him to the stage last February.

November 28 is the deadline for clubs, organizations, schools, churches and businesses to sign up 2022 North Little Rock Seltoma Christmas ParadeDecember 4th at 2pm down the street.
This year’s theme is “Beloved Christmas Characters,” however, “no Santa Claus will be in attendance, as North Little Rock will have a Santa Claus on the final stage of the parade,” a North Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau press release said. (Other sponsors are the North Little Rock Seltoma Club and North Little Rock.)
The parade begins on Pershing Avenue, heads south on Main Street and ends on Washington Avenue and includes floats, parades, decorated cars and trucks, school groups, beauty pageant winners and equestrian riders, and Santa Claus.
