@Newsweek reports that a 30-year-old woman from Tokyo, Japan made a shocking decision About her children as she made allegations against her sperm donor. In Japan’s first lawsuit, woman sues her sperm donor for $2.8 million after she says he lied about her marital status, ethnicity and educational background – which led to her abandoning her child after she allegedly found sperm . information. Apparently, the unidentified woman and her husband wanted a second child and opted to use a sperm donor after discovering that her husband had a genetic condition. The woman then used social media to find a donor in her 20s who boasted of being a graduate of a top Japanese university, claimed to be Japanese, and was single.

However, there are more stories. The woman reportedly had 10 sexual intercourse with an unnamed donor so she could become pregnant – and in June 2019, she succeeded. That’s when she discovered that the donor’s real race was actually Chinese, that he was married and had not graduated from Kyoto University as he originally claimed. Unfortunately, by the time she found out, it was too late for her to have an abortion, but after she gave birth, she decided to give up the child, which now remains at a childcare facility in Tokyo. Now, the woman is formally suing the donor for $2.8 million, citing emotional distress.

She further claims that the donor knowingly provided her with inaccurate information just so that he could have sex with her, with no intention of being honest as a sperm donor.

Also, thanks to Japan’s “right to know” law, the donor’s children can legally identify the donor. This has led many donors to seek other ways of giving to maintain complete anonymity, but has also made it harder for individuals or couples to find potential donors.
