Abu Dhabi has announced that work has begun on the third phase of the Al Falah housing project, covering an area of 2.1 million square meters with a total investment of more than AED 1.92 billion (US$ 523 million).
The key development will include 899 residential villas and other key amenities, as well as allocated land for commercial and community facilities.
According to the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, the expansion of Al Falah is the latest phase after the first and second phases of the project, which has provided citizens with 4,857 housing units since 2012, reflecting the growing city of the Al Falah region expansion.
Each villa will have five bedrooms, two council rooms (one for men and one for women), dining and living rooms, among other facilities, it said.
Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Committee, inspected the project.
He was briefed on the infrastructure, building specifications and architectural design features of the project, which is part of the UAE Neighborhood Initiative.
