The parent-child fan zone has set up a large screen and different viewing areas
The birthplace of international cricket and community sport, Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Center welcomes football fans to watch FIFA World Cup matches in its fan zone.
The new facility is called Boundary Backyard, named after the on-site Boundary Sports Cafe. Set against the backdrop of the iconic Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium with its curved roof, the fan zone can accommodate 300 fans. There’s a big screen with different viewing areas, including a balcony lounge with shisha, and a range of food and drink options.
“At Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Centre, the community is at the heart of everything we do and we continue to develop our facilities to meet their needs. ‘Boundary Backyard’ is a great example,” said Abu Dhabi Cricket Company Chief executive Matthew Boucher said.
“Crucially, it is a family-friendly destination that has quickly become the vibrant center of this historic World Cup, allowing us to come together to celebrate the entire region while it thrives on the global stage,” Boucher added.
Shane Xavier, Catering Manager at Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Centre, emphasized that football fans had a great time during several close matches.
“As we look forward to the semi-finals and final, we expect the rest of the games to be packed.”
The Boundary Backyard is located at the Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Complex in Khalifa City A.
