Russians bomb Ukrainian nuclear power plant

Russia’s war in Ukraine has entered its 165th day. Shelling of Ukrainian targets continues, including the recent attack on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. This has sparked global fears of a Chernobyl-like nuclear accident. Each side of the conflict blamed the other for the bombing of the nuclear power plant.

Pope visits Ukraine

The Ukrainian ambassador to the Holy See suggested that Pope Francis might visit the battered country. The Pope will travel to Kazakhstan in September for a three-day visit. The ambassador hopes he will add Ukraine to his itinerary.
