San Salvador [El Salvador]May 21 (ANI): In a tragic incident in the Central American country of El Salvador, up to nine people were killed and several others injured in a stampede after fans tried to enter a stadium during a match. National Civil Police (PNC).

“The first information is that there was an outpouring of fans trying to get into Cuscatlán Stadium for the game between Alianza and FAS,” PNC said.

El Salvador’s Health Minister Francisco Arabi said on Twitter that emergency teams had been deployed and the injured were being transferred to local hospitals.

According to CNN, video provided by the National Civil Police of El Salvador showed multiple ambulances parked outside the stadium and paramedics rushing to the scene.
