[ad_1]

Kabul [Afghanistan]Sept. 22 (ANI): Afghan politician and leader of the Uzbek community, Abdul Rashid Dostum, has accused Hazara leader Mohammad Karim al-Khalili, according to media reports. Has a secret relationship with Pakistan.

Dostum made the claim at an online conference that saw the presence of anti-Taliban figures. He criticized Mohammad Karim Khalili for his absence from the meeting and accused him of secret ties to Pakistan, Khaama Press reported.

On the anniversary of the death of former Afghan President Burhanuddin Rabbani, Dostum told the meeting that Khalili was colluding with Pakistan as he continued to choose to remain silent on the Taliban’s actions.

He further said that Khalili had received funds from Pakistan to keep “silence” against the Taliban. Mohammad Karim Khalili was furious at Dostum’s remarks and demanded an apology from the Uzbek leader for his remarks.

According to Khaama Press, Khalili said on his social media accounts that his party believes that war and violence are not the solution to the crisis in Afghanistan and that the country needs to negotiate a transition from a centralized system to a fully decentralized governance system.

The Taliban have been the de facto authority in Afghanistan since taking control of Afghanistan in August 2021.

The United Nations has called on the Taliban to reverse a series of measures they have taken to limit the enjoyment of basic rights and freedoms by Afghan women and girls.

“The window of opportunity may be shrinking, but we urge them to take concrete steps — such as aggressively returning girls to high school — that can revitalize Afghanistan and give the Afghan people hope,” a UNAMA statement read. “

Various rights groups have called on the Taliban to implement major policy changes and measures to uphold the rights of women and girls. Despite initial public commitments to uphold the rights of women and girls, the Taliban have implemented systematic discriminatory policies that violated their rights.

Women and girls across Afghanistan responded to the crackdown with a wave of protests. In response, the Taliban targeted protesters with harassment and abuse, arbitrary arrest and detention, enforced disappearances, and physical and psychological torture. (ANI)
