kabul [Afghanistan]China News Service, June 17 (Xinhua) According to Kama Press, the U.S. State Department released its annual report on global human trafficking, saying that Afghanistan is one of the countries with the worst human trafficking.

Millions of people are exploited by human trafficking rings every year, according to a newly released report.

Afghanistan and 10 other countries have policies in the form of government programs on human trafficking, forced labor, sexual slavery in government camps and recruitment of child soldiers, according to a 2023 report released by the US State Department.

According to Khaama Press, apart from Afghanistan, the other ten countries are Iran, Turkmenistan, Cuba, North Korea, Syria, China, South Sudan, Myanmar, Eretria and Russia. In addition, Afghanistan is one of the countries where armed groups are supported.

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said in a message posted on the State Department website on Thursday that, according to Khaama Press, millions of people are exploited each year, both inside and outside the country.

Blinken said this year’s Trafficking in Persons report provides a comprehensive overview of human trafficking around the world.

Additionally, Afghan nationals are considered the most vulnerable to exploitation by human trafficking groups in Afghanistan and abroad due to late regime change, long-term political instability, and economic and security concerns, Khaama Press reported. (Arnie)
