kabul [Afghanistan]June 11 (ANI): With unemployment rising in Afghanistan, young people in Kabul have to follow the path of illegal immigration, says TOLO News.

Young people said that under the current circumstances, it has become more difficult to pay living expenses, so they have to go to neighboring countries or further afield.

Abubaker, a resident of Laghman and the head of a family of nine, decided to travel to Iran illegally. “I want to work in Iran, I’m in Year 12, but now I’m leaving school,” Abubek said.

Fed up with poverty, Kabul’s youth are calling on the Taliban to provide opportunities in jobs and education.

“There is no job and we have to travel to another country,” TOLO News quoted Emal, a resident of Nangarhar province, as saying.

“We are asking the government to provide jobs for young people and provide an educated generation so young people are not forced to go abroad,” said Kabul resident Abdul Ali.

The Taliban’s economic ministry says they have large economic projects to reduce poverty in the country, which will provide jobs for hundreds of young people.

“Reducing poverty, strengthening small and medium industries, activating semi-finished and development projects, and launching macroeconomic projects are all on our agenda,” said Abdul Latif Nazari, the Taliban’s deputy economy minister.

Hundreds of people are reportedly smuggled into neighboring countries every day. (Arnie)
