According to a joint press release, a Vietnamese delegation is visiting India from April 9-10 at the invitation of the Indian Prime Minister’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, KC.
The leaders reiterated that the two sides are committed to further deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, strengthening ties in the fields of strategy, security and defense, and contributing to the maintenance of peace, prosperity and stability of the two countries, the region and the world.

The two sides took note of the discussions during the second India-Vietnam Vice-Ministerial Security Dialogue in New Delhi in September 2022, and agreed to strengthen current cooperation in the exchange, capacity building and training of Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security officials.
Leaders further reaffirmed the importance of maintaining and promoting peace, stability, maritime safety and security, and freedom of navigation and overflight in the Indo-Pacific region. Both sides also emphasized the importance of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). They reiterated their belief that any differences must be resolved peacefully, through respect for international law, and not by resorting to threats, aggression, or unilateral or forcible changes in the status quo. The two sides also exchanged views on recent developments in their respective regions.
