GOMA, April 3 (AP) At least 20 people have been killed in a landslide in eastern Congo, the government said Monday.

The landslide occurred in the village of Bolowa in the Masisi region on Sunday. AS Colonel Guillaume Ndjike Kaiko announced in a statement.

“As a result of this unfortunate incident, 20 of our fellow citizens lost their lives and others are still missing and missing,” he said.

Alphonse Mushesha Mihingano, a local administrator, told The Associated Press that about 25 mothers and children were washing clothes in a creek at the foot of the mountain when the landslide occurred, and some of them were buried.
