The gunman who opened fire on the Brazilian school was reportedly carrying a semi-automatic weapon that was captured on security footage. The gunman was allegedly spotted wearing military uniform with his face covered.

Espirito Santo Governor Renato Casagrande confirmed in a tweet on Friday, “Security teams caught up with the attacker who cowardly attacked two schools in Aracruz. I declare three days of official mourning to express my grief for the irreparable loss. We will continue to investigate the cause and will have new clarifications shortly.”
“The attacks took place at the Primo Bitti School and at the Praia de Coqueiral Educational Centre,” the governor said.
Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva described the two shootouts as “ridiculous tragedies”, tweeting: “Knowing that Espiri Santo I am deeply saddened by the attack on the school in Alacruz, Tuzhou. My solidarity goes out to the families of the victims. This ridiculous tragedy.”
