Participants in the public meeting also passed a resolution saying that the Reko Diq project bill passed by Parliament disregarded the will of the people across the province and would not be accepted under any circumstances.

According to the bill, all powers of the Balochistan government have been delegated to the federal government, bypassing the local people, a process that clearly violates the country’s laws, constitution and the 18th Amendment, the resolution said.

The protesters said that defending every inch of Balochistan is “part of our national responsibility and duty, because this land is our motherland and we will not allow our identity to be erased under any circumstances”.

They threatened that if the legislation on Reko Diq passed in the middle of the night is not revoked and the people of Balochistan are not considered as the heirs of the mineral and other resources of Balochistan, then BNP-M will make a tough fight in this regard. Decide.

Meanwhile, the National Party also held separate rallies in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan, but opposed the federal and provincial government’s deal with Canadian company Barrick Gold Corporation, according to Dawn newspaper.

Earlier, JUI-F and BNP-M members protested that they were not being trusted on this issue. However, the government assured members that their concerns were valid and would be addressed.

According to the Tribune, Pakistani Prime Minister Sheikh Baz Sharif said that the Pakistani government will ensure that the rights and interests of investors in all investment projects, including the Rakodik project, are protected and all commitments made to them will be fulfilled.

The cabinet was informed that the presidential reference had been referred to the Supreme Court for legal opinion on the final agreement under Article 186 of the constitution, the report said. The court issued an opinion on Dec. 9, saying the restructuring process was transparent.

A five-member cabinet committee has been formed to remove some legal hurdles and hold talks with Coalition leaders to address their concerns. The committee is made up of Finance Minister Ishaqdar, Commerce Minister Sainavi Kamal, Law Minister Ajantara and Economic Affairs Minister Ayaz Sadiq. The Committee decided to make amendments after consultation with interested parties.

After lengthy discussions, ministers approved the signing of a final agreement to restructure the Reko Diq project, following a proposal by the oil sector. The cabinet also approved the project funding scheme approved by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet, The Tribune reported. (Arnie)
