New Delhi [India]November 17 (ANI): The current Indian ambassador to the Republic of Madagascar, Bandaru Wilsonbabu, has been concurrently appointed as the next ambassador to the Union of Comoros, the foreign ministry said on Thursday.
He is expected to accept the assignment soon.

“The current Indian Ambassador to the Republic of Madagascar, Shri Bandaru Wilsonbabu, has been concurrently appointed as the next Indian Ambassador to the Union of Comoros, residing in Antananarivo,” the MEA said in a statement.
Wilsonbabu was an officer of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in 2004 and earlier served as Joint Secretary of the Eurasian Division.

Over the past three years, relations between India and the Comoros have developed in many ways.
Vice President Venkea Naidu visited the Comoros in October 2019. This is the first state visit to the Union by an Indian dignitary.
Six memorandums of understanding were signed during the Vice President’s visit. The two countries also signed a memorandum of understanding on defense cooperation.
The Comoros is a founding member of the International Solar Alliance and a member of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA). (Arnie)
