WORLD NEWS | CANADA: Four children die after being caught in tidal waves while fishing in Quebec

Quebec [Canada]June 4 (ANI): In Quebec, Canada, four children were killed Saturday (local time) when they became trapped by tides while fishing, CNN reported.

A spokesman for the Quebec provincial police told CNN that emergency crews were called to Port-sur-Mer on the North Shore at 2 a.m. Saturday.

The spokesman said 11 people were missing after leaving on foot to go fishing and being swept away by the tide. Of the 11 people, 6 were rescued and 5 disappeared overnight.

Four children aged over 10 were found unconscious and taken to hospital around 6am, according to a spokesman. Police later confirmed the children had died, CNN reported.

A man in his 30s remains missing and divers, boats and helicopters are searching for him, according to Quebec provincial police.
