WORLD NEWS | China front to influence life of Tibetan refugees in Nepal: report

[ad_1]

Lhasa [Tibet]Jan. 14 (ANI): As China peddles the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) agenda abroad, much of the effort in this direction has been undertaken by the China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification (CCPPR), a powerful African The nonprofit Tibet Rights Collective reports on the lives of Tibetan refugees living in Nepal.

Since September 2022, the Chinese Communist Party is influencing the lives of Tibetan refugees in Nepal in the form of the China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification, the report said, adding that it is expanding under Chinese control in Nepal to detect dissent suppressing overseas Chinese communities sound.

Tibet Rights Collective reports that the Chinese Communist Party’s influence over the Nepalese government will affect the rights of Tibetan refugees in Nepal.

China sees Nepal as a potential partner in its Belt and Road Initiative, and the Nepalese government has restricted Tibetan movement in the country, citing Chinese pledges of millions of dollars in investment, the report said, adding that Nepal hosts more than 15,000 Tibetans. Tibetans are refugees for humanitarian reasons, but since 1995 has stopped issuing them identity cards.

The Nepalese government has also denied Tibetan refugees access to schools and universities, opened bank accounts, and restricted them from starting businesses, the report said.

The report further stated that Twitter user Nature Desai posted a time-lapse video showing how China built a road to “Parchekya Bhanjyang” (5,447 meters above sea level), a saddle that separates Nepal and Tibet.

Headquartered in Beijing, the Chinese Communist Party was founded in 1988 to serve the party’s sole goal — “the unification of the motherland of China,” the report said, adding that it was born out of “unifying all patriotic causes in support of the Chinese people” in a peaceful unification of the country, according to the Tibet Rights Collective, a Delhi-based research institute on Tibetan politics, culture, traditions and language.

The group engaged in activities in support of Chinese foreign policy, the report said, adding that those activities included group voting and fundraising for Chinese-American political candidates who agreed to support the Chinese Communist Party’s agenda of reunification with China. (Arnie)
