Beijing [China]March 7 (ABC): According to the Global Times, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang said that the relationship between China and Russia has set a model for international relations, which is non-aligned and non-confrontational, suggesting that Beijing has a closer relationship with Moscow.

Geng Shuang said at his first press conference after taking office, “China and Russia have embarked on a road of strategic mutual trust, good-neighborly and friendly relations between major countries, and set a good example for international relations.”

China-Russia relations are non-aligned, non-confrontational, not aimed at any third party, pose no threat to any country, and are not subject to interference or sowing dissension by any third party. .

According to the “Global Times” report, the press conference was held during the first meeting of the 14th National Press Conference, and it was also Qin Gang’s first appearance at the two meetings since he took office three months ago.

“Some countries tend to view Sino-Russian relations from the perspective of a Cold War alliance and only see their own image,” the Chinese foreign minister said.

In an interview with reporters, he further stated that with the joint efforts of China and Russia, the world will have the impetus to move towards multi-polarization and more democratization of international relations. Global strategic balance and stability will be better guaranteed.

The more unstable the world is, the more China-Russia relations need to advance steadily, Qin said.

Qin said the leaders of the two countries have maintained close contact. The Global Times reported that the interaction between the heads of state is the compass and anchor of Sino-Russian relations.

In response to a question about whether it is possible for China and Russia to abandon the use of the US dollar and the euro in bilateral trade settlements, Qin said that regardless of the currency, an efficient, safe and credible currency will be used.

Referring to the United States and geopolitics, the Chinese foreign minister said, “The United States regards China as its main competitor and the most serious geopolitical challenge. The United States’ view of China has largely deviated from a healthy and rational path.”

The “competition” between the United States and China is all-round containment and suppression. Like a dishonest runner in an Olympic race, the United States doesn’t want to do its best, it wants to trip up its opponents. “It’s not fair, but definitely a foul,” he added. (Arnie)
