London [UK]April 13 (ANI): British Security Service Military Intelligence 5 (MI5) has warned cabinet ministers that “Chinese spies” are entering the country by acquiring citizenship in a third country and using visa-free access to the UK, Sputnik reported. .

MI5 has provided evidence that nationals of hostile countries, including China, have entered the UK after obtaining citizenship from countries whose citizens do not need a visa, a British newspaper reported, citing a senior government source. According to reports, MI5 is concerned that some of these people may be agents working for the Chinese government.

The issue has prompted the Home Office to prepare to impose new visa restrictions on several countries where “Chinese spies” enter British soil.

The Foreign Office allegedly blocked the measure, leading some government ministers to nickname Foreign Secretary James Cleverly “Mr Weak”, the report said.

MI5 has reportedly suggested that Russian agents could use the same measure to enter British soil.

Meanwhile, Chinese police have reportedly been using spies to ensure Uyghur Muslims do not fast during Ramadan.

Radio Free Asia quoted a police officer in a region near Turpan in the eastern Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region as saying that the spies that Chinese officials called “ears” came from ordinary citizens, police officers and members of neighborhood committees.

“We have a lot of agents,” the officer said in an interview with Radio Free Asia.

According to news reports, China began banning Muslims in Xinjiang from fasting during Ramzan in 2017, when authorities began arbitrarily detaining Uyghurs in “re-education” camps to weaken Uyghur culture, language, and religion. (Arnie)
