NEW YORK, Sept. 7 (The Associated Press) John Miller, who has held key roles in the judiciary and in the press, will join CNN as chief law enforcement and intelligence analyst, CNN reported.
Miller has worked for ABC News and CBS News during his career. He has also worked for the FBI, most recently as the NYPD Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence and Counterterrorism.

As a reporter, he covered the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and prior to that interviewed Osama bin Laden on ABC News. He co-authored the book, “The Cell: Inside the 9/11 Episode.”
“John will help deliver on CNN’s commitment to solving complex problems while presenting audiences with independent, objective journalism and meaningful analysis across platforms,” said Chris Licht, CEO and Chairman of CNN Worldwide.

Miller began working at the network’s New York bureau on Tuesday.
Since taking over earlier this year, Licht has tried to steer CNN toward more news and less opinion.
He’s drawn more attention recently for leaving under his watch, like former “Reliable Source” host Brian Stelter. On Friday, CNN White House correspondent John Harwood announced he would be stepping down.
