Kathmandu [Nepal]April 25 (ANI): Flydubai flight FZ 576 flying from Kathmandu Airport (KTM) to Dubai International Airport (DXB) suffered a bird strike while taking off from Kathmandu.

A flydubai spokesperson said that after following standard procedures, the flight continued to Dubai as normal and arrived at DXB at 00:14 local time.

The plane reportedly caught fire after being struck by a bird. Fire engines were dispatched at the airport.

Nepal Tourism Minister Sultan Kirati also confirmed that the flight landed safely in Dubai.

Recently, a Saudia cargo flight made an emergency landing at Kolkata airport after its windshield broke in mid-air, airport officials told ANI.

The plane landed safely at Kolkata Airport at 12:02 noon.

Before landing, the airport has made all necessary preparations.

After the flight landed, the full emergency was called off, according to airport officials.

Earlier, an Etihad Airways flight bound for Abu Dhabi returned to Bengaluru International Airport shortly after take-off due to a technical issue.

The airline said the plane landed normally at Bengaluru airport.
