Islamabad [Pakistan]May 10 (ANI): Imran Khan’s lawyers on Wednesday accused him of plotting to kill the former Pakistani prime minister in prison, according to a video posted by the Pakistan Justice Movement (PTI) official Twitter handle.

An hour and a half after the meeting with Imran Khan, one of his lawyers said the former prime minister complained of chest pains.

Citing a further claim from his lawyer, PTI said Imran claimed that insulin was added to his meals to induce a heart attack.

One of his lawyers briefed the media on the meeting with Imran Khan, saying four of his lawyers met with him for an hour and a half after obtaining permission from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court.

“We asked him if he was tortured. He said he had been feeling pain in his heart since the morning,” one of his lawyers was quoted as saying by PTI.

“It was an attempt to kill him. He (Imran Khan) said he was not allowed to sleep,” the lawyer further told, sharing details of his conversation with the former prime minister.

“Imran Khan was taken to the police station at 3am and placed in a dirty room with neither a toilet nor a bed,” his lawyer claimed.

“He hasn’t eaten anything since 3am (Wednesday),” the lawyer added.

Regarding the ongoing civilian protests and violence across Pakistan following Imran’s arrest, his lawyers said they had briefed Imran on the matter.

The lawyer claimed that he urged the people to continue the fight to restore the rule of law in the country.

“When we told him that people were still in the streets protesting his arrest, he asked us to inform the masses that they must continue to fight to restore the rule of law,” the lawyer said.

Imran was arrested by Pakistani rangers outside the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday, based on an arrest warrant issued by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the Al-Qadir Trust case.

He was dragged out of the Islamabad High Court. He was allegedly forced to crawl when they grabbed him by the neck and dragged the former prime minister toward a police car, Pakistani media reported. (Arnie)
