WASHINGTON, Nov. 18 (PTI) — Indian-American Punit Renjen announced Friday that he will retire as Deloitte Global CEO on Dec. 31, to be succeeded by Joe Ucuzoglu.

Renjen has been Deloitte’s global CEO since 2015, developing and executing a global strategy that has grown Deloitte’s revenue from $35 billion to over $59 billion in just seven years.

I look forward to some exciting endeavors, including dedicating time to my Passionate about several social causes that are being focused on, including sustainability and climate,” Renjen said.

Under Renjen’s leadership, Deloitte launched WorldClass—a global effort to prepare 100 million disadvantaged people for a world of opportunity—based on the belief that businesses thrive when societies thrive.
Renjen also spearheaded Deloitte’s World Climate Initiative, which includes near-term (2030) GHG reduction targets that have been identified by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) as 1.5°C aligned, science-based targets.
Sharon Thorne, chair of the Deloitte Global Board, said: “The Deloitte Global Board and I would like to thank Punit for leading Deloitte to extraordinary growth and meaningful social impact, and for his decades-long commitment to the organization.”
