Tel Aviv [Israel]May 11 (ANI/TPS): Ali Ghali, commander of the Gaza rocket team of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group, was killed in an Israeli airstrike early Thursday morning.

Ghali and two other terrorists were killed in an airstrike on a safe house in Khan Yunis where they were hiding.

“Gali is considered a central figure in the organization and is responsible for day-to-day management,” the IDF said in a statement.

Speaking to reporters, IDF spokesman Major General Daniel Hagari said: “The attack was carried out following successful intelligence that identified the hiding apartment, the floor where the agents were hit. A very precise attack.”

Gary was also a key figure in the numerous rockets fired during the conflict in August 2022 and May 2022.

Islamic Jihad fired more than 500 rockets Wednesday, damaging cars, homes and buildings in Israeli communities. Although some were injured, no Israelis were killed.

Ghali was the fourth senior Islamic Jihad commander to be killed by Israel since Tuesday, when the jihadists Ghanam, Tarek Iserdin and Khalil Bakhtini were killed in separate raids.

Bakhtini is Islamic Jihad’s senior operational commander, responsible for authorizing and executing all terrorist activity from northern Gaza. Ghannam is responsible for coordinating and transferring funds and weapons between Islamic Jihad and Hamas. Izzeldeen managed the group’s terrorist operations in Gaza, Judea and Samaria and helped move funds between operatives in the two regions.

Following the death of Khader Adnan on May 2, the terrorist group launched rocket attacks on Islamic Jihad leaders. Jailed senior Islamic Jihad figure Adnan died after 86 days of hunger strike. Throughout Adnan’s hunger strike, the terrorist group has been threatening to hold Israel responsible for the deaths of its members.

So far, Hamas has stayed out of the fight. (ANI/TPS)
