New Delhi [India]May 1 (ANI): Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen will visit New Delhi this May when the two countries will celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

The visit follows a four-day official visit to India led by Israeli Economy Minister Nir Barkat in April this year with a large business delegation aimed at strengthening mutual cooperation in areas of mutual interest, The relationship between automotive technology and fintech. In late March, Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana also paid an official visit to India and signed a memorandum of understanding on the first cooperation and information exchange agreement between the Israeli and Indian parliaments. During celebrations here, Israel’s ambassador to India, Nargiron, praised the ties between the two countries and said he looked forward to hosting the foreign minister soon.

“These days we have had the honor of a series of high-level visits from Israel to India. In late March we had the visit of the Speaker of the Knesset, and in mid-April we had the first visit of the Speaker of the Knesset. Economy Minister, We look forward to hosting the Foreign Minister soon and our Prime Minister later this year,” the envoy said.

“Never before have I felt such a deep appreciation, love and friendship for Israel as I have visited in India. A similar feeling for India exists in the hearts of many Israelis. Speaking to ANI, the envoy also said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to visit India by the end of this year.

Our relations now also have a government-government sector ,” Israeli ambassador Naor Gilon said in an interview with ANI.

“If we had an example of a wonderful partnership, it would be our commercial relationship. We started 30 years of full diplomatic relations. It’s emblematic of how we’ve been able to grow so fast, so high,” he added.

“Technical cooperation, cooperation between people,” the Israeli ambassador added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli people on the 75th anniversary of their independence. At the invitation of Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Lapid, Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar will pay an official visit to Israel from October 17 to 21, 2021.

From 4-6 July 2017, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a historic first visit to Israel, during which the relationship between the two countries was upgraded to a strategic partnership. From January 14 to 19, 2018, the then Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu paid a return visit to India.
