George Town [Guyana]April 24 (ANI): Foreign Affairs Minister S Jaishankar joined Guyana President Irfan Ali on Monday for the commissioning of the MV MA Lisha ferry in Georgetown.
The ferry was built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers of Kolkata.
“Today with Guyana President Irfaan Ali on the commissioning of the ferry MV MA Lisha. This ferry will significantly enhance connectivity within Guyana. It will provide mobility and economic opportunity to the far hinterland,” he tweeted.
Jaishjankar also joined Ali at his Eid dinner and thanked him for his hospitality and warm welcome during his visit to Guyana.

Speaking at the India-Guyana Business Roundtable in Guyana, Jaishankar said the partnership between the two countries has new possibilities, while also highlighting new areas of focus that the two countries had agreed on earlier.
Jaishankar tweeted on Sunday that he highlighted new areas of focus discussed earlier by Guyana President Ilfaan Ali and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including energy, health and pharmaceuticals, technology and defence.
The Foreign Minister was joined by Guyana Foreign Minister Hugh Todd, Guyana Finance Minister Ashni Singh and Guyana Public Works Minister Deoda Indal to participate in the India-Guyana Business Roundtable.

He also met with Guyanese military officers who were training in India and visited the East Coast-East Coast Highway Link project with Public Works Minister Deodat Indar.
“It was a pleasure meeting Guyanese service personnel who were training in India yesterday. ‘India Delivery’ is an evolving global infrastructure reality. Field trip to the East Coast – East Coast Highway Link project was undertaken with Public Works Minister Deodat Indar. The interaction was with the workers and senior staff. They were very impressed with their enthusiasm,” he said. (Arnie)
