Tokyo [Japan]July 3 (ANI): An explosion occurred at a building in Tokyo’s bustling Shimbashi district, with smoke billowing from the scene, according to footage from the scene, Kyodo News reported on Monday.

Four people were treated for minor injuries, according to NHK-World Japan, citing police sources. Two of them were employees of the restaurant where the explosion is believed to have taken place, and the other two were passers-by.

Police said the fire broke out on the second floor of the building, Kyodo News reported.

NHK-World Japan cited an eyewitness who posted video of the fire on social media.

“Suddenly I heard an explosion, so I looked down the road and things were scattered everywhere,” he said.

NHK-World Japan quoted the manager of a nearby Italian restaurant as saying he heard an explosion inside and thought it was an earthquake. The report quoted him as saying: “Then I went outside and saw the second floor of the building was on fire.” (Arnie)
