Rajkumar Ranjan Singh will pay an official visit to Indonesia from August 28 to 29 to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Secretariat.

This is his first visit to the ASEAN Secretariat and Indonesia. During the visit, in addition to engaging with the ASEAN Secretariat, MoS will also engage with a number of officials to strengthen bilateral ties.

AINU, announced by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit 2018, as a consortium of leading Indian and ASEAN institutions, will be launched through a partnership between academic and research institutions in India and ASEAN member countries. To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN-India dialogue relations in 2022, the “ASEAN-India Special Foreign Ministers’ Meeting” was recently held in New Delhi.

2022 has been designated as the “ASEAN-India Year of Friendship”. This year also marks the tenth anniversary of the establishment of strategic cooperation between India and ASEAN. (ANI)
