New Delhi [India]Sept 7 (ANI): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi met Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in New Delhi on Tuesday during her four-day visit to India.
Hasina started her four-day visit to India yesterday as Bangladesh is an important partner under India’s “Neighborhood First” policy.

Shortly after arriving in New Delhi on Monday, the Bangladeshi prime minister met with Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and discussed issues of bilateral interest. She also visited Nizamuddin Aulia Dargah, a famous pilgrimage destination in Delhi.
Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also met with President Drupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Danhar in New Delhi.

According to a statement issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President, welcoming Sheikh Hasina to Rashtrapati Bhavan, said that “our shared history, language and culture bind us together”.
The President noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, India-Bangladesh bilateral relations have grown significantly. She further said that the way the two countries celebrated the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh’s independence and the golden jubilee of India-Bangladesh bilateral relations was indeed special.
The President was pleased to note that Bangladesh has achieved great success in the socio-economic prosperity of its people. She assured me that India will continue to be a reliable partner in Bangladesh’s development journey.
Earlier today, Sheikh Hasina met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad Mansion and held bilateral talks to review and further strengthen relations between the two countries, followed by Sheikh Hasina’s visit During the India period, India and Bangladesh signed seven memorandums of understanding.
