KATHMANDU, Jan 9 (PTI) Nepal’s newly appointed Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said on Monday that collective efforts are crucial to achieving prosperity, as he is confident that the new parliament will successfully meet the expectations of the people.
Prime Minister Prachanda also said in the first House sitting after the November general election that Parliament should be a “testing center” for lawmakers.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari called the first session of the new parliament on January 9.
Prachanda told lawmakers that the people elected them on condition that “we provide good governance and prosperity, and for that to make sense, Parliament should be seen as a testing center,” My Republic newspaper reported.
He said political parties should unite as one to fulfill the common promise of good governance and prosperity made to the people in the elections.
