Karachi [Pakistan]April 17 (ANI): Police from the Anti Violent Crime Unit (AVCC), in cooperation with law enforcement agencies, raided the Shah Latif Town police station and recovered two youths who were kidnapped by Karachi police for ransom, International News reported. .

Two kidnapped youths, Asad and Arman, were kidnapped from Zakaria Goth with a ransom of Rs 5 lakh but a deal of Rs 1 lakh was eventually struck.

AVCC police arrested four suspects, including two police officers, in the raid. According to The News, the police have opened a case against them while they are looking for another suspect who happens to be the head of the Malir district police special unit.

Meanwhile, Shah Latif SHO has denied his involvement in the kidnapping of the two youths. However, he has been suspended and the Malir district SSP has launched an investigation to determine how the abducted youth was brought to the Shah Latif police station and held there.

“I have nothing to do with the kidnapping,” Malik Mazhar Iqbal Awan, the suspended Shah Latif SHO, told The News in an interview. “Those involved in the kidnapping have been arrested and charges have been filed against them.”

Families of abducted youths began receiving extortion calls, and kidnappers began collecting money in exchange for the release of the hostages.

After the AVCC police received the case, they searched the kidnappers and launched an investigation on technical grounds. Once the kidnappers received the ransom, they were taken into custody by AVCC police and the hostages were freed from their room at the police station, The News reported.

The kidnappers first summoned the families to Quaidabad and then to the town of Shah Latif to collect the ransom. After the four suspects received the ransom, AVCC police immediately took them into custody.

During the interrogation, the suspect revealed that the hostages were being held in a room at the police station in the town of Shah Ratif. The youths were abducted by a private group from SHO who claim they are being held at the police station by a special unit of the Malir police. “My mobile van wasn’t picking up anyone, and I’m not aware of any kidnappings,” he said.

A total of three cases were registered against suspects involved in the kidnapping based on the state’s complaint, according to news reports.

This comes after the kidnapped man was recovered from a District Central police station in the last week of March.

SHO at the North Nazmabad and Hydri Police Stations was suspended in the last week of March for three abducted friends after they were rescued from the North Nazmabad Police Station, according to news reports.

Lawsuits have been filed against police officers and others based on complaints from relatives of the kidnapped citizens. The FIR read that the kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs 5 lakh for the release of the three men.

It was also written that the kidnappers asked the complainant to go to different areas with the ransom money and finally, they asked him to go to the North Nazimabad police station. (Arnie)
