RAMALLAH, Dec. 12 (AP) — Israeli troops killed a teenage girl early Monday during an army operation in the occupied West Bank, a Palestinian hospital announced.
The Khalil Suleiman Government Hospital in the northern city of Jenin said Jana Zakaran, 16, was pronounced dead after being shot in the head.

The official Palestinian news agency reported that Zakaran was found dead on the roof of her home after Israeli troops withdrew from Jenin.
The Israeli military said it had been informed of the teen’s death and was investigating.

It added that the army entered the city and arrested three Palestinians wanted for allegedly attacking Israelis. It said clashes and intense firefights broke out between soldiers and suspects.
Some 150 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli-Palestinian firefights in the West Bank and East Jerusalem this year, the deadliest year since 2006.
The Israeli army says most of the Palestinians killed were militants. But stone-throwing youths protesting the incursion by Israeli troops were also killed, as were others who did not take part in the confrontation.
Israel has been conducting daily arrest raids across the West Bank, sparked by a spate of Palestinian attacks on Israelis in the spring that killed 19 people.
The military said the attacks were aimed at dismantling militant networks and preventing future attacks, but Palestinians said they had consolidated Israel’s unrestricted occupation, now in its 56th year.
At least 31 people have been killed in Arab attacks in Israel and the occupied West Bank this year, according to Israeli figures. (Associated Press)
