New York [US]Jan 10 (ANI): Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, who is on a four-day visit to New York, New Jersey and Washington on Monday (local time), highlighted India’s significant Economic Transformation and Great Potential is organized by the US-India Business Council at Nasdaq New York.

He said both the US and India are vibrant democracies with close ties, geopolitical ties and a huge interest in the commercial and economic well-being of both countries.

The Union minister also addressed the Council on Foreign Relations’ stakeholder roundtable from industry, think tanks and academia.

Discussions included India’s role in G20 Broad issues including the presidency,” Goyal tweeted.
He also visited the Tata Innovation Center at Cornell Tech University in New York.

Goyal will join US Trade Representative Katherine Tai in Washington on Jan. 11 for the 13th ministerial meeting of the Trade Policy Forum (TPF), a major bilateral trade mechanism.
TPF is the main forum for resolving trade and investment issues between India and the United States. TPF was established in July 2005 to discuss trade and investment issues.
The objectives of the forum are to facilitate trade and investment flows between the two countries, formulate and implement trade policies through a transparent process consistent with international obligations, create an environment conducive to technological cooperation and innovation, promote inclusive economic growth and job creation in India and United States.
The Federal Secretary of Commerce and Industry and the U.S. Trade Representative are co-chairs of the Trade Policy Forum. The 12th TPF Ministerial Conference will be held in New Delhi on November 23, 2021 after four years. (Arnie)
