On this day celebrated on 5th June every year, RTA, in partnership with Careem, announced that it will provide customers with free Careem BIKE riding services at 186 stops in Dubai to encourage people’s awareness and action to protect the environment. There is no limit to the number of trips, and a single trip should not exceed 45 minutes.

This offer will be valid until Saturday 10 June 2023 in honor of World Environment Day, which is celebrated on 5 June every year.

The initiative is an excellent model of public-private partnership (PPP) to fulfill the government’s directive to transform Dubai into a bicycle-friendly city. Customers can get free rides on Saturday, June 10 through the Careem app by selecting “BIKE” under the “GO” section on the home screen. Customers can choose a “One Day” pass and use the code “FREE” to ride for free, which will give them 24-hour access. Participants will need to enter their card details but will not be charged.

Careem BIKES is available at 186 locations in Dubai.

Since its launch in February 2020, Careem BIKE has emitted more than 2.5 tonnes of CO2, equivalent to the annual CO2 emissions of 713 cars. Careem BIKE also aims to encourage more customers to use the service by providing sustainable solutions for companies to offset carbon emissions by purchasing employee or customer bulk subscriptions.
