Saudi Arabia’s interior ministry announced in a statement that 91 Saudi citizens and some 66 nationals “arrived safely”, representing the following countries: Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Tunisia, Pakistan, India, Bulgaria, Bangladesh, Philippines , Canada and Burkina Faso. Faso.

The Prime Minister expressed his condolences to an Indian national who tragically died of a stray bullet last week.

Prime Minister Modi directed all relevant officials to remain vigilant, closely monitor the developments, and constantly assess the safety of Indian citizens in Sudan and provide them with all possible assistance. The Prime Minister further directed the preparation of emergency evacuation plans, taking into account the rapidly changing security situation and the feasibility of various options.

The prime minister also stressed the importance of maintaining close communication with neighboring countries in the region, as well as countries with a large number of citizens in Sudan.

Jaishankar previously met UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in New York on April 20 to discuss developments in Sudan.

“We had a very good meeting. Most of our meeting was on the situation in Sudan. We also discussed the G20 and the Ukraine conflict, but it was essentially about Sudan,” Jaishankar told ANI.

Jaishankar said the Indian government has been in touch with citizens stranded in Sudan.

“Our team in Delhi has been in touch with Indians in Sudan, advising them, saying we know this is going to be very difficult for everyone, but keep calm and don’t take unnecessary risks. I hope these efforts are successful. It will pay off soon,” EAM said.

Fighting has been raging between forces loyal to Sudanese army chief Abdul Fattah al-Burhan and his deputy, who commands the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Mohammad Hamdan Daglo.
