New Delhi [India]BEIJING, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) — The Turkish embassy in New Delhi on Friday expressed its gratitude to India for its assistance, solidarity and donations. The Turkish embassy in New Delhi said on its official Twitter account that the most urgent priority was winter tents.

Aid has poured in from around the world as Turkey continues to grapple with life after the earthquake. India has also sent relief supplies to Turkey and sent the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) to assist in the rescue operation.

According to a statement released by the Union Health Ministry, emergency relief supplies including life-saving medicines, protective supplies and intensive care equipment worth more than Rs 7 million have been arranged and quickly dispatched to Turkey and Syria.

On February 10, both Turkey and Syria arranged a large amount of relief supplies. The shipment to Syria included 72 types of intensive care medicines, consumables and protective items totaling 7.3 tons worth 1.4 lakh rupees, the statement said.

The relief supplies to Turkey include 14 types of medical and intensive care equipment worth Rs 4 crore. Some of the medical equipment included Patient Monitor Cardio VI, Syring Pump Medvo, ECG Machine IMAC 300, according to the statement. (ANI)
