The forum, held during the visit of a high-level UAE delegation led by Al Sayegh to the Czech Republic, aims to expand bilateral cooperation in numerous areas to meet the aspirations of the two countries and their peoples. A double taxation agreement was signed during the visit.
Al Sayegh praised the depth of the UAE’s economic relationship with the Czech Republic, underscoring the UAE’s position as one of the Czech Republic’s largest economic partners as non-oil trade exceeds $1 billion in 2022. He also noted the significant growth of Czech investments in the UAE.
Al Sayegh added, “The convening of the UAE-Czech Business Forum reflects the expanding bilateral relations between the UAE and the Czech Republic, especially in the economic field, which has recently experienced significant growth following the signing of the Economic, Commercial and technical cooperation. This agreement heralds a new chapter in a strong economic relationship that will support sustainable economic growth plans for both countries.”
The forum has established several joint working groups in areas such as trade and investment; education; health; agriculture; environment, energy and renewable energy; and technology, aimed at exploring opportunities in both countries. A joint action plan was also agreed to advance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in priority areas.
The delegation included representatives from several ministries, including the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, Ministry of Health and Prevention, UAE entities and companies from the public and private sectors, Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, United Arab Emirates University, Khalifa University, American University of Sharjah, Masdar, Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, Al Dahra Holding, Tawazun, EDGE, ST Group, Rockford Xellerix, Al Fattan, Office of Artificial Intelligence, UAE Space Agency , G42, Advanced Technology Research Council, Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park, Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, Invest Sharjah, Dubai Airport Free Zone, Ajman Free Zone, Emirates Global Aluminum and Bin Ghalib Group.
A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine of the United Arab Emirates University and the Czech University of Life Sciences during the visit. (ANI/WAM)
