London [UK], May 5 (ANI): The United Kashmiri People’s National Party (UKPNP) organized an international conference at the House of Commons in London earlier this week. British lawmakers, prominent human rights activists, thinkers, lawyers, journalists, writers and the Kashmiri diaspora in the UK participated and expressed their views on the scourge of extremism and violence conceived and propagated by Pakistan, Asian Lite International reported.

According to a press statement, “The conference was rightly titled ‘Growing Extremism and Violence in South Asia and How It Will Affect the UK and South Asia’ because the impact of violence and hatred bred by the Pakistani establishment is not only affecting the region South Asia , but so is the UK, the EU and elsewhere.”

One of the speakers emphasized that the terrorist attacks in the United States, London, Madrid and Paris proved that the threat of terrorism was no longer confined to its place of origin.

According to the UKPNP, research has shown that the UK is particularly vulnerable to this threat due to its large Pakistani community. According to British security services, “at least three-quarters of terror plots in the UK originate in Pakistan,” Asian Lite International reports.

The University of Oxford noted in 2018 that Pakistan hosts or aids most of the world’s deadliest terrorist groups. It can be seen that Pakistan has dealt with three times as many terrorist attacks as Syria, five times as many as Libya, and seven times as many as Iraq.

The spokesman also said that over the years, interdependence has developed between Pakistani state institutions and terrorist groups, which have the potential to acquire nuclear weapons, Asia Light International reported.

The serious and ongoing threat that Pakistan’s vibrant terrorism infrastructure poses to the UK and the rest of the globe has not received due attention. This forced the meeting to ask, “Why did the UK put Pakistan on its list of countries at high risk for terror financing and money laundering in 2021, only to reverse that decision just a year later?”

Fabian Hamilton, UK Shadow Secretary for Peace and Disarmament; Wood Green, UK Shadow Secretary for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs; Hilary James Wedgwood MP and MP Catherine West from the Labor Party attended and delivered speeches.

Towards the end of the conference hosted by the organisation, a resolution stated UKPNP’s support for peace, harmony and prosperity in the South Asian region.

“We condemn the spread of inequality, violence and hatred orchestrated, instigated and supported by the Pakistani establishment. We publicly state that the J&K dispute is a product of Pakistan’s unprovoked and imperialist attack on J&K country and since then human rights of Kashmiris have been violated by Pakistan Honor and honor. The UKPNP urges the Government of Pakistan to ensure freedom of expression for all who live under its heels, regardless of creed, race, language and social status. We strongly support religious freedom to followers of all faiths,” the resolution states, According to Asian Lite International.

In a unanimous resolution, the UKPNP urged its distinguished guests to expand the realm of peace, tolerance, harmony and respect for all; to strengthen and advance our aspirations for social order and world peace; to leave no room for violence and hatred. According to Asian Lite International, the UKPNP is committed to continuing to fight those who support, forgive or justify these evils.

In its final statement, the UKPNP asked the authorities to take the necessary steps to prevent individuals advocating radicalization, violence and intolerance from participating in their activities, Asian Lite International reported. (Arnie)
