MILAN, May 28 (AP) – Venice police are investigating the source of a patch of phosphorescent green liquid that appeared on Sunday along the city’s famous Grand Canal.
The governor of the Veneto region, Luca Zaia, posted a photo of the green liquid spreading in the water near the arched Rialto Bridge.
The patch was reported by residents.
Pictures on social media showed a patch of bright green in the canal along the restaurant-lined embankment.
Zaia said officials have asked the police to investigate to identify those responsible.
Environmental protection agencies are also testing water quality. (Associated Press)
