muzaffarabad [PoK]April 21 (ANI): After six days of deliberations, Chaudhary Anwar Ul Haq was “elected” unopposed as the new prime minister by the lame legislative assembly of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on April 19, 2023

Haq is from Bhimber City, PoK Bhimber District. He was the Speaker of the legislative assembly and was elected to the house on the ticket of Jammu and Kashmir Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) from Bhimber constituency number 7 during the 2021 general elections Haq is the 15th prime minister of PoK and obtained 48 votes .

Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League (N) plus 7 members of the PTI Forward Block that opposed Imran Khan had all voted in unison to get Haq elected. Four MPs were still absent during the meeting.

On April 11, 2023, the post of Prime Minister of Poland became vacant after Tanveer Ilyas was disqualified in a contempt case.

Haq was elected for the first time to the assembly in 2006 on the ticket of the People’s Muslim League. Since then, he has served as a senior minister, speaker and acting president of the PoK.

Former Defense Minister Lt General (r) Chaudhary Ikram ul Haq is his brother.

Haq’s father claimed to be part of an anti-Dogra “revolution” allegedly formed on 14 October 1947 by the PoK government said to be a precursor to Pakistan’s attack on the state of Jammu and Kashmir on 22 October 1947.

So it’s not hard to conclude that he was, and still is, a blue-eyed boy in Pakistan’s military establishment.

Information gathered from my inside sources says that he has come to power with the support of the Supreme Military Command and ISI Chief General Nadeem Anjum.

The fact that both PPP and PML(N) voted for him and no other candidate was picked to run against him means that we will also have a pro-PDM government just like the coalition government of Pakistan now in PoK.

Former prime minister of PoK Ilyas, who was ousted through judicial engineering on April 11, said most of PTI’s workers and leaders stood with Imran Khan.

Haq was not nominated by Imran Khan as a candidate and will hold a meeting with Chairman Imran Khan soon to discuss future strategy, Elias said.

Tanveer Ilyas is not the first prime minister or head of government to be ignominiously ousted. KH Khurshid was appointed PoK president in 1959 by the then Pakistani military dictator, General Ayub Khan.

When Khurshid started demanding more power from the PoK government, the general forced Khurshid to resign. He later died in a car accident.

Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan was the first jihadist to attack the state of Jammu and Kashmir on October 22, 1947, and he was president of PoK in 1974.

However, he refused to support Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s Pakistani government and was ignominiously removed through a no-confidence vote orchestrated by Pakistan.

Sardar Muhammed Ibrahim, a lackey of the Pakistan Army and a key figure in the invasion of Jammu and Kashmir state on 22nd October 1947, was the President of PoK who was sacked by the direct order of the military ruler of Pakistan, General Zia ul Haq in October 1978 30 days.

Khan’s crime at the time was his refusal to support the July 5, 1977 military coup that toppled the government of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Hence, the recent ouster of PoK Prime Minister Tanveer Ilyas was not an isolated incident. He may have become too visionary for the Pakistani military establishment.

In November and December 2021, Tanveer Ilyas initiated the first local body elections in 30 years in PoK. The Pakistani military establishment rules the PoK by depriving the people of their true representation. Holding local body elections is counterproductive.

During local body elections, the people of PoK find themselves having the opportunity to discuss, debate and discuss issues related to improving their communities, building schools, clinics, hospitals, roads, bridges, security walls and more.

This politicization of the public at the grassroots level was a dangerous one for the colonial occupiers. Therefore, the Pakistani military was dissatisfied and refused to send rangers or additional police from Punjab to assume security responsibilities on the polling day.

Tanveer Ilyas launched bus services between PoK and occupied Gilgit-Baltistan, ending travelers’ 70-year reliance on Pakistan’s transport system. This is considered a mortal sin.

How could the colonial rulers have allowed the peoples of two occupied territories of the same country to start communicating and traveling to each other’s occupied territories, exchanging their shared social, political and economic experiences during the 75 years of Pakistani occupation?

In the end, Tanveer Ilyas managed to secure a $15 million educational project from Saudi Arabia. Are you kidding me? ? ? An educational project for an oppressed people? This was completely intolerable and resulted in a High Court stay order on the project.

Two months after the stay was enforced, Elias publicly complained that educational programs were being delayed because of court intervention. That’s it.

The High Court immediately found Ilyas in contempt of court on April 10, and by April 11, he was out: disqualified from serving as prime minister and a member of the Legislative Assembly.

The new Prime Minister of PoK Chaudhary Anwar ul Haq who is a puppet of Pakistan’s military establishment will do three things to undo what Tanveer Ilyas has done.

First, Haq will deprive councilors of local bodies of any development funding, thereby turning locals against elected councilors.

Second, Haq will take steps to limit, if not abolish entirely, the PoK-Gilgit-Baltistan bus service.

In the end, he will ensure that the $15 million education program awarded by Saudi Arabia will never meet PoK’s educational requirements.

If Huck tries to cross the line, which I doubt he might dare to do given his family and his own political background, he will repeat the mistakes of his predecessor.
