NEW ORLEANS, Dec. 4 (AP) Woman injures six lieutenants at New Orleans airport: A woman was shot at a Louisiana airport early in Thanksgiving when she refused to get off a plane, officials said, according to reports. Deputies were responding to requests from Spirit Airlines staff to remove the woman, who reportedly became enraged and asked nearby passengers, whom she believed to be Latino, if they were smuggling cocaine. Paramedics treated the deputies at the scene, according to local news reports.
Police reportedly charged the woman with six counts of assaulting a police officer, three counts of disturbing the peace, one count of forcibly resisting arrest and another count of remaining under arrest after being restrained. The woman was released from Jefferson Parish Correctional Center later that day after posting a $10,750 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 23.
