London [UK]12th December (ANI): The World Sindh Congress (WSC) has thanked the British government for imposing sanctions on Mian Mithu, who was involved in the forced conversion of Sindh Hindu girls in Sindh province.

Mian Mithu, an influential cleric and Pakistani politician accused of forced conversions, is one of 30 entities sanctioned by the UK.

Over the past three years, the WSC has actively engaged with the All Party Committee of the Pakistan Minorities Parliament (APPG-Pakistan Minorities), a cross-party parliamentary committee that investigates violence and aggression against religious minorities in Pakistan, a statement on Facebook said. The World Sindhi Congress urged the UK government to implement the report’s additional recommendations to provide relief for religious minorities in Pakistan, especially Sindhi Hindus.

In early November, the World Sindh Congress held its 34th Sindh International Conference in London. Speaking at the Sindh International Conference, Dr. Rubina Shaikh, President of the World Congress of Sindh, stressed that Sindh is going through the “worst period in its history”.

During the meeting, the World Congress of Sindh urged international bodies, including the United Nations, to bring an “ecocide case” against the Pakistani government in local and international courts.

Dr Rubina Sheikh said, “Sindis are going through the worst period in their history. Sindhis must wage a united, systematic and united struggle for the right to self-determination of their homeland,” said World Sindhi Congress at Facebook announced in a statement on November 23.

The World Congress of Sindh made resolutions on various issues of faith. In its resolution, the World Sindhi Congress stressed that people in 23 districts of Sindh province continued to live a “very difficult life” and blamed it on the federal and provincial governments. (Arnie)
