followed by SINGAPORE TO HOST THE WORLD SUPERCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP (WSX) Yas Island in Abu Dhabi continues to add an international flavor to the collection.
Etihad Arena on Yas Island will host Round 5 on 4-5 November 2023.
Abu Dhabi is home to WSX’s strategic investment partner, Mubadala Capital, offering investors the opportunity to play at home.
“We are very proud to announce the hosting of the WSX Abu Dhabi Grand Prix,” SX Global CEO Adam Baily said in a press release . “Yas Island is renowned for the standard of excellence it hosts some of the biggest events in the region, including Formula 1, the UFC and the NBA among other major events.”
“This event will mark the region’s first supercross event and is a major milestone for both the WSX and the supercross sport.”
The funding round will be created and managed by Ethara, the largest event, entertainment and venue management company in the Middle East. One of the venues managed by the company is the Etihad Arena, the largest indoor entertainment venue in the region. Over the past 15 years, the Etihad Arena has hosted more than 700 major events, attracting more than 16 million fans, including concerts during Formula 1 race weekends.

The addition of the Abu Dhabi race keeps the World Supercross series at six rounds after the French Grand Prix was postponed indefinitely due to unforeseen scheduling and logistical challenges. The French Grand Prix was originally scheduled for the second round.
