Xochitl Gomez will “inherit” Sir Patrick Stewart’s advice in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”.
The 16-year-old actress – who played American Chavez in the Marvel blockbuster – is delighted to have the opportunity to star alongside the “X-Men” legend as he crosses over to play the role of Professor Charles Xavier in the film.
Reflecting on her Colliders Ladies Night experience, she said: “Patrick Stewart gave me great advice and it’s something I like to keep doing because it’s something I knew I needed when I first came in…
“He’s like, you know, just make sure to pay for it, you know, newcomers are very welcome…
“The most important thing about him is that sometimes you never know, and the person in front of you can be the biggest star and you don’t even know it.”
Gomez admits his tip “really hit her” and she wants to “help” anyone who may need her in her acting career.
She added: “I think, yeah, I mean, it’s always important to be nice to everybody, you know, be nice to everybody and treat others with respect.
“I was really shocked and it was like, yeah, whoever is involved, I really, I want to make sure I reach out and let them know that I — do you want coffee? I have it, I’m available. “
Meanwhile, the teen star has previously teased that her role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has a lot more to come.
She said: “I mean, I haven’t been told anything yet.
“But obviously there’s a lot more to America. I think we’ve only seen a brief introduction to America, and I’m very proud of how popular she has been and how people love her and want to see more of her.
“It really warms my heart because I feel like she has a lot of backstory waiting to be told, and she has more to discover about herself and her power.”
