This weekend in Abu Dhabi’s premier leisure and entertainment center on Yas Island, Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen won the Etihad Airways 2021 Etihad Airways Grand Prix’s closest race to the championship. The 22nd and final race of the longest Formula One season ever was the only Twilight on the F1 calendar and ended in spectacular style.
In this year’s competition, in addition to regional partners Webbeds, WEGO, Coral Travel, Clevertrip, the island also hosted international partners Amsalem Tours & Travel, Intourist, Seera Group, Aristeya Ukraine, Kesari Travels, FCM Travel, First Travel Partners and SOTC India, White Lilies, Turning Point, Dakkak Travel and India’s ambassador to the UAE.
This year’s Grand Prix took precautions and the Yas Marina Circuit returned to full capacity, because fans need to show a green pass through the Al Hosn app and perform a negative PCR test within 48 hours to enter the venue. As part of the competition, during the weekend celebrations, Yas Island’s travel partners joined thousands of fans in the star-studded Yasalam post-match concert in Etihad Park, which included American R&B stars. Performances by Lide, Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi and British rapper Stormzy.
The race is held at the Yas Marina Circuit, which is the core of Yas Island. The island has destination award-winning theme parks, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Water Park Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi and CLYMB™ Abu Dhabi, as well as Yas Mall and 10 worlds Class-rated hotels and more than 165 dining experiences, as well as the newly opened Yas Bay Waterfront as Abu Dhabi’s vibrant day and night destination.
