Abu Dhabi: Yas Island, Abu Dhabi’s premier leisure and entertainment hub, celebrates Diwali – from 24 October to 6 November 2022, the Festival of Lights is a major landmark and attraction across the island.

AR Rahman concert
Oscar-winning maestro AR Rahman will delight fans with a special live concert this Diwali.
The concert will take place on 29 October 2022 at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
Commenting on the occasion, AR Rahman said: “I am delighted and honoured to perform live for the first time this October at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. I have always strived to celebrate music globally and have Connecting with fans and music lovers around the world, I look forward to being a part of their Diwali celebrations this year as Abu Dhabi emerges as a major leisure and entertainment destination!”

Chef Vinette Bhatia
Michelin-starred chef, author and restaurateur Vineeth Bhatia prepares an à la carte menu to celebrate Diwali at Yas Island’s award-winning Indian restaurant Angar from 24-29 October.
He will prepare lunch and dinner menus. Guests can enjoy modern and creative Indian cuisine by famous chefs.
Chef Ranville Brar
Celebrity chef Ranveer Prarar will share his love of desi flavours in celebration of Diwali from 28-30 October.
Celebrity chefs will host an exclusive chef’s table for three days at Yas Rotana’s elegant Indian restaurant Rangoli. Additionally, fans can meet the chef when he unveils his new cookbook at Radisson Yas Island’s Filini Gardens.
3D Diwali Light Show
Guests will enjoy Diwali-style light projections on the front of the resort, Bangla dance performances around the pool, and delicious Indian BBQ for two days from October 29th to 30th.
The Indian feast will feature tandoori, freshly grilled tikka and naan, as well as mini chaat with a variety of aromatic spices, chutneys and chutneys, followed by delicious Indian sweets, masala chai and naan Themed drinks.
Diwali Shopping Festival
For 24 days starting October 14, guests can enter a draw for the chance to win one of three exciting prizes for every AED 300 spent in celebration of Diwali.
The grand prize, which will be announced on November 7, includes two business class flights to India, ZEN Diamond jewellery worth AED 5,000 and 200,000 Dana Points worth AED 10,000.
The first prize includes a one-night stay at W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island for two guests, a dinner sponsored by Vineet Bhatia and two tickets to AR Rahman’s concert.
The second prize includes a one-night stay for a family of four at WB Abu Dhabi and four tickets to enjoy Warner Bros.
Additionally, during Diwali, Yas Mall will entertain guests with various entertainment programmes and activities including Bollywood dance performances and stilt walks.
Other celebrations include
DJ Aqeel and Akhtar will play classic pop tunes of the 90s as they set the stage for a delightful Diwali celebration at Stiles, Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi Yas Island.
Diablito will be celebrating Hanukkah with Indian-inspired Mediterranean cuisine, paella with Raita sauce (a curry vegetable paella) and tandoori chicken pizza with Indian spices.

Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is almost here. Hindus celebrate this auspicious festival to observe the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. This year, Diwali or Deepavali will be celebrated on Monday 24th October.
