Yes!Xavier Prather becomes the first black winner after the 23rd season of Big Brother

[ad_1]

History was made on Wednesday night because Xavier Prather became the first black person to win a CBS award “Big Brother” competition. The reality show competition program has been aired for 23 seasons, and the jury faced three black finalists-the first time in the history of the show.

Xavier not only broke the glass ceiling of black winners, but also won a grand prize of $750,000.

“This is surreal,” Prather said. “I would not have been here without all the members of The Cookout and every member of the jury. Those who are not on the jury, they are part of the season, and I can’t thank you enough. I am very lucky. To meet each of you, we have all made history this season, so I think we should all be proud.”

Prather took the big bag home by unanimous vote and defeated finalist Derek Fraser, who won the runner-up at $75,000.

“I’m very happy,” Fraser said. “I want to come here to fight for my mother and be able to help her and change her life. I think I can do that now.”

Prather and Fraser are part of the six-man league, and there are only black contestants. The mission of this alliance, which they called The Cookout, is to reach the final six and ensure that black people win the “Big Brother” for the first time.

As part of this task, the group agreed not to vote for anyone in the league to withdraw from the show until they reach the bottom six. Once this goal was reached, The Cookout began to choose from each other. In the end, the alliance completed its mission.

The 23rd season of “Big Brother” is also the most racially diverse cast in the history of the show. Among the 16 actors in the show, only 7 whites participated.
