“Violinist”
Violinist Kirill Raskarov, Arkansas Symphony Orchestra co-principal and pianist Karl Anthony performs works written for and dedicated to famous violinists in a program titled “Violin Virtuosos,” Tuesday at 7 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 4106 John F. Kennedy Avenue Church Held, North Little Rock. This is the opening event for the Church’s 2022-23 Sensual Festival.
Adapted from a show scheduled to be cancelled on January 18, featuring Fritz Kreisler’s “Prelude and Allegro”, credited to Gaetano Pugnani; Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky D 1st movement “Allegro Moderato” in Violin Concerto No. 35 in major; “Meditation” in “Thais” by Jules Massenet; and “Scherzo” in C minor by Johannes Brahms (from “FAE” Sonatas, collaborations also include movements by Robert Schumann and Albert Hermann).

This Victorian toy, made from a disc with a picture on each side and attached to two strings, is “Creation Station – Thaumatropes” Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Rogers Historical Museum at 313 Second Street, Cherry Street, Rogers. Museum educators will teach participants how to recreate this “wonderful Turner” and demonstrate how entertainment was used before video games, cell phones and electronics.
